We're always on the move, we only stand still by the sea.

Gone Fishing is a culinary city festival that brings together stories, flavours and initiatives with one goal: to bring all of us a little closer to the North Sea.

Gone Fishing?

  • In March, April and May, more than 30 restaurants in Ostend put the North Sea in the spotlight with a refined Gone Fishing menu. Enjoy a starter and main course featuring lesser-known North Sea fish for 49, 59 or 69 euros.
  • Who knows, you might even feel inspired afterwards to stop by the Vistrap and get creative with these surprising fish varieties in your own kitchen. Discover our cookbook with recipes from Ostend chefs from 8 March onwards.
  • At FAAR, the non-fiction book festival, you can explore various activities around the launch of the Gone Fishing cookbook, ranging from an inspiring talk to a chef who takes you to the Vistrap.
  • Many more activities are coming up, including unique four-hands collaborations.
