Recipe book
The Gone Fishing cookbook features recipes from 22 Ostend chefs using the best the North Sea has to offer, so you can get cooking at home with both familiar and lesser-known fish varieties. The ideal gift for anyone who loves gastronomy, cooking, the sea and fish, of course!
The recipe book is only available in Dutch.
Practical
Gone Fishing is a collection of activities, projects and people who are passionate about North Sea products. Working with products from our sea creates an unforgettable taste sensation, and we want everyone to experience that. Go to a restaurant, cook for yourself or come and taste our products at our local retailers, because we never stand still, except by the sea.
When is the festival taking place?
Gone Fishing will kick off in March 2026 with a unique book launch and delicious fish menus in Ostend's restaurants. These menus will be available in March, April and May. Various activities are also planned during this period, including quatre-mains and tastings. All activities can be found on the Activities page.
How much does a menu cost?
The participating restaurants all offer a starter and a main course featuring lesser-known North Sea fish as the main ingredient. They charge €49, €59, or €69 for this, which you can always check when making a reservation or ask in advance if you book directly. So, take a seat, relax, and enjoy genuine craftsmanship.
